December saw yet another very successful Business After Hours program on Wednesday the 16th. Video Entertainment Plus of Sidney joined with Kitchen Concepts to celebrate the Christmas program. Sidney Chamber 1st Vice President Kevin Theobald was master of ceremonies.
Televisions on
display showed the nation engaging in military action against Iraq. But that did not
dampen the spirits of the attendees. Plenty of snack foods and beverages were on hand for
the over 50 people who attended the event. Dozens of door prizes were also donated by
local chamber merchants and taken home by some lucky people.
Matviak explained that his business grew from a home-based sideline with twenty video tapes to a multi-service appliance and video store with thousands of titles on display. Video Entertainment currently has two locations located in Sidney and Norwich.
Don Eggleton described his business as an idea that became reality. He approached Andy Matviak with the concept of renovating a corner of the Sidney video and appliance store to sell kitchen cabinetry. Matviak believed in the concept, and soon thereafter, Kitchen Concepts was born. Eggleton explained that his business benefits by having the resources of Video Entertainment's staff to answer phones and handle inquiries in his absence. Eggleton now boasts hundreds of kitchens being sold in the past year alone.
The Business After Hours program benefits the host business by providing them with the opportunity to showcase their product or service. Since it's inception, Business After Hours has become a regular routine for many Sidney chamber members. B.A.H. also provides attendees the opportunity to network with fellow business leaders in the Tri-Town community.
